Fernie has some pretty amazing slack country and using the resort to get a bump up to higher elevations opens a lot of doors for some great skiing especially early season. Skinning from the valley bottom currently involves a lot of bushwhacking and difficulty walking.
Ron Jeremy’s is a shoot located just off the resort past Mongolia bowl. I’m not sure what the name of the bowl is where Ron’s is located, I’ve always just referred to it as out Mongolia.
Ron’s is a great early season line, that draws the eye when skiing in Mongolia. It’s not too committing and it usually holds snow. We set off boxing day from the resort to ski it and couldn’t have asked for better conditions. With some great skiing and unique entrances into the shoot, it was a great day.
