North Bowl October 25th, 2020
Matt, Jen, Kirsten, Izzy (dog) and I set off for some October turns around 8 am in Fernie. Some early season snow had allowed us to ski in some local areas. Which was a first for a few of us, usually we would have to pretty far drive to ski this early.
We headed up behind the Three sisters to North Bowl. It was a very shallow and steep skin into the bowl but once we crested the moraine, we were looking at a rather promising bowl. Lots of snow and a good length of a run.
We skinned up the bowl and got some relatively decent turns on our way out. The ski back down the skin track proved to be treacherous and full of core shot opportunities. Luckily, we all got out with minimal damage. It was a great day on the skis and a great start to winter.
